Product Data Sheet

Prologue In building construction industries, Urban Architects normally stumble upon surface, which are wet or damp and find difficult to overcome the problem of such type of surface, while surface coating. For example, in a water tank where water has been stored for years, the inside surface cannot be dried out in a day or even with blowlamps. The use of any resin of solvent base will result in failure because such solvent base raging is not miscible with water and will not bond eternally.

Product Description ESKE Waterborne Epoxy is a two component epoxy resin based waterproofing compound. One part consists of epoxy resin and the other part with Hardener. The two components are converted into water base emulsion. Both the emulsion are mixed in equal proportions at the time of application, after mixing both the parts it can be thinned down with water. The hardener and resin will simultaneously react with cement surface on which it is applied, will develop a strong bond, which will make waterproof surface. It possesses all the attributes of normal solvent based epoxy compositions such as excellent water and chemical resistance, adhesion, hardness, toughness and mechanical strength. This is a cold setting, which forms water resistant and vapour- proof membrane over the structure; it heals in 24 hours to form a hard improver surface. It is having tendency to get penetrated into micro-size holes, crakes, porosities and voids in cement concrete One of the major advantages of ESKE Waterborne

Epoxy over solvent based epoxy is that it can be applied on damp surface also. Being free from solvents, it does not pose any health hazards or fire hazards to the user. In a single line, ESKE Waterborne Epoxy is utterly safe, fitting & economical to apply. Technical Data Characteristics

Application

  • Cement- concrete water storage tanks.
  • Damp walls (Interior / Exterior).
  • As a primer before painting (Interior / Exterior)
  • As an undercoat before applying ESKE COAT & Vermiculite on roof terrace and external walls.
  • Toilet and kitchen walls.
  • Coating on walls of Breweries & Food processing industries.
  • As a primer before application of ESKE Bond coating in Food & Drug industries.
  • As a putty with white cement to fill the fine cracks of external walls.
  • Hatcheries & Aquafarms.
  • Underground Tanks and Pipelines.
  • Coating of Cellar Walls.

Outstanding Features

  • Water dilutable.
  • Being water based it penetrates in concrete / plaster surface, seals the porosity and network of fine cracks.
  • Reduces water permeability.
  • After curing it forms hard, tough and strong film.
  • Bonds strongly on cement concrete / mortar, plaster, asbestos sheet, etc surfaces.
  • Excellent resistance to water, salt water, dilute acids, alkalis, soap water and other chemicals.
  • Excellent resistance to +ve (hydrostatic) water pressure.
  • Non toxic
  • Non hazardous, non flammable
  • Can be applied on damp surfaces.
  • Available in white colour, can be supplied in colour shades.
  • Can be overcoated by solvent based and water based paints.
  • Performs well in a temperature ranging from -20 ºC  to +80 ºC
  • Resistant to the growth of fungus & micro-organism.

    Directions for Use

    Surface Preparation

    • Surface preparation is the most vital step before application to get results and to avoid failure.
    • The substrate must be clean and free of dirt, paint, oil, grease, sludge,
blistered & loose plaster, fungus & moss etc.
    • Thorough wire brushing followed by sanding with emery paper is recommended.
    • Remove the dust by compressed air or paint brush or wiping with water soaked cloth.
    • Remove existing old plaster; fill the visible brick joints by Cement Concrete or ESKE Seal Epoxy Putty. In case of RCC Structure, etching of entire surface by acid, soap solution and wire brush to be done.

Mixing Mix Part I Resin & Part II Hardener thoroughly in their individual containers. Pour both the parts in a suitably larger container and mix them thoroughly together to a homogenous smooth paste. Dilute the mixed compound with proportionate quantity of water by slow addition to make it appropriate for brushable applications.

Method of application - By brush 1. Waterproofing of cement concrete water storage tanks from inside :

Ø      Prepare a groove / joint in the crack wider than 2 mm. Clean the dust by  washing it with water.Allow the groove / joint to dry for 24 hours.

Ø      Prepare a mixture of ESKE Seal Epoxy Putty and White Cement; mix it thoroughly to a homogenous grey colour.

Ø      Fill the mixed compound by means of a spatula or putty knife in the groove. Tool the sealant by pressing the putty knife firmly against the sealant surface.

Ø      Allow the sealant to cure for 24 hours minimum.

Ø      Apply one brush coat of mixed ESKE Waterborne Epoxy by brush. Allow it to cure for 6-8 hours.

Ø      In case of severe leakage problem due to more cracks on the walls surface, apply ESKE Waterborne Epoxy - cement putty on the entire surface area. ESKE Waterborne Epoxy – Cement Putty Mix ESKE Waterborne Epoxy (Part I Resin & Part II Hardener) 1 kg. homogenously, add 2 kgs. of Ordinary Portland Cement- Grey / White, add required quantity of water to get a plaster like paste. Coverage 1. ESKE Waterborne Epoxy / Finish coat - 40 - 50 sq.ft. per kg per coat
2. ESKE Waterborne Epoxy - Cement putty 15 - 20 sq.ft. per 3 kg mix per coat
*Coverage figures may vary depending upon porosity and roughness of the surface. Storage & Shelf Life Store the materials at cool and dry place (25 ºC. Temperature).
Shelf life is one year when material is stored in unopened container.
Packing 10 kgs, 50 kgs.  (50  Resin : 50 Hardner) Precautions

  • All previous coatings to be entirely removed before application of ESKE Waterborne Epoxy.
  • ESKE Waterborne Epoxy used on exterior surfaces must be over coated by weather durable coatings.
  • At low temperature, drying and curing period will be lengthened.
  • Before mixing both the parts mix them in individual containers.
  • Mix small quantity before application at site for trial and use within half an hour.
  • Do not pour back the emulsion once taken out from the container.
